Which Parts Washer Fluid?
Chaz - 14/5/11 at 07:21 PM

Hi there!

I have never used a parts washer and just bought my shiny new one. Can you please offer me some advice on the best way to use it.

Which fluid shall i use?
How often do you clean it?
Any other great tips?!

Cheers!

Chaz

You can buy a standard cleaner, use parrafin and I have even seen diesel used.

Never use petrol, and if the solution gets too contaminated by petrol change it.

Hell's bells, kero at 60p/litre?
I wish!
Down here it's £7.30 for a 4 litre plastic container!

So the message is, stick clear of the advertised cleaning products and go for Paraffin, Kerosene and Diesel?

Anyone disagree?

As long as your not paying £7.40 for four litres of kerosene, as kerosene is the american name for paraffin which is the same as heating oil and pretty much the same as deisel without the tax on it.

I've just been searching online for places to buy paraffin/kerosene/heating oil and cant find anything!

Can anyone give me a good steer in the right direction?

Thanks

Are paraffin oil and paraffin the same thing?

I thought there was a difference.
