Got an old hospital bed from the local Emmaus (French charity shop) for €15 (£13).

Stripped it to a frame:

Added top, and now I have an electricaly adjustable build table:

Up:

Down:

Supposed to work up to a load of 300 kilos, so should be OK.

Now thats just toooo flash !!

I bet a few people wondered what you wanted it for though ??

My wooden one on wheels now looks a tad basic

I use a similar thing as a motorcycle lift, from a private Ambulance!
From a long chat with the guy I bought it from, it seems (at least in South West UK) that some bed lifts are not weight rated for safe lifting some of the patients (!!!)..... either the regulations are getting tougher (and of course they always are), seems odd that 500Kg SWL isn't enough anymore (!!!???)

i want one...

if it can support enough weight to hold a car, and lift it, you have yourself a nice portable, stable lift. you could cut a whole in the middle of it after you have build your car, strengthen it around the edges and use it to service your car, though i wouldnt get under it without something to hold it hup like an axle stand or 4...
