I'd recommend speedglas, I've had a 9002x for the last 5 years and it still works perfect. I like it as the helmet is quite slim and easier to manouver into tight spaces than some of the boxier helmets.

I actually started with the "utility" single shade version of the mask and changed the filter part when I started using TIG, so the helmet part is about 12 years old and the electronics part 5 years old.

I use a Speedglas 100v (£139 or lower)

Pros

Shade 3 when light.
Shade 8 to 12 adjustable when welding. (Good for low amps Tig)
Works off a button cell, so it won't die if left in the dark for long periods.
Twin light detectors.
Compact and light weight with excellent optical quality.

Cons

Clear lens is shaped so non standard (£25 for 10)
Auto switch off, so needs to be switched on again if you stop for more than a half hour or so.

I've had mine for two years and still haven't had to change the battery.

esab eyetech II 5-13 range. they cost £200 a pop but are the best on the market. had mine for three years and its worked flawlessly no matter how long it get left about or how ever many times it gets knocked off the 5ft gas bottle.

I use an Esab too but a cheaper one than above. It has been excellent and has had many hours use for TIG and a good few with MIG as well!
