For xmas this year I'd like some wire strippers. I currently have some of these:
Which are pretty terrible. They're only terrible when I can find them, for the rest of the time I resort to snippers or scissors and end up
cutting through the wire and saying rude words.
As I'm going to be wiring my amazon, kit car and trike in the next year I'd like some like these (or anything recommended that isn't
the above):
I don't have any car mags that have done a group test of them so I'm all ears. I'd quite like some good ones, £20-30 tops
FANX
I used both the fancy ones in your second pic and a lot different cheapies like this one: AUTOMATIC WIRE STRIPPER CUTTER AM-TECH | eBay and quite franly, I would not bother with the more expensive ones as the are not really an improvement over the cheap one from the ebay link (or something similar)
These are very good. Similar (but very pricey) are used on aircraft.http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/automatic-wire-strippers-acces sories/0663617/
Automatic wire / cable stripper /cutter /crimper F40 | eBay
I use these and they are great, so easy and save so much time...so would have made my money back many times over!
You may find the auto ones fiddly if your doing lots of differnt thnks
I still like these type for simplicity

+2 for the F40 link type. Easy on any wire I have tried. Can use them one handed.
Perfect, thanks very much
I've used the type Reman points to for over thirty years as an electrician and can say I still have the same pair going strong made by CK
Ck Wire Strippers | eBay.
I wouldn't use anything else all the automatic one's are a bit gimicky
Get your ass round to Lidl and you can a set of the F40/CK type, a set of long nose pliers and side cutters for £6.00 the lot if memory serves if
theyve still got any left (my local branch has).
Used these at work for 2 years on a daily basis no worries and far less fiddly that automatic types which are cr@p with multicores.
Cheers,
Bob
