parts washer solvent is brilliant

So, I gave up on the surfactant based cleaner in the parts washer and put 25L of solvent based cleaner in from MachineMart.

Fantastic. The oil just melts away from the surface to be cleaned.

I now smell of complex hydrocarbons

£80 for 25L is the painful bit. Looking for a cheaper supplier than MachineMart.

I'm going to put my block in there next and scrub it down.

I don't think there are any warnings about the wonderful fumes.

Gunwash (cheap celly thinners) is a lot cheaper than that IIRC. Careful with it though!

I have just got a clarke parts washer and used the clarke parts washer fluied, which is not as good as the stuff in your video. what is the name of the solvent based cleaner you mention.

I used the machine Mart solvent. They sell both surfactant based cleaning fluid and evil chemical solvent.

It wasn't cheap at £80 for 30L or so but it did the job.

I use same sort of thing from my local hydraulics place and its made by witham oil.
