When I get in tonight . Compressor is a wolf 2.5hp unit (9.5cfm) which has to run pretty much 100% if you're doing large items but copes well given a breather every 15 mins or so. The biggest issue I have at the moment is sealing the gloves and extracting the dust as it gets a tad hard to see at times.

Cabinet is 700x600x600 and is lit with a 120w flood light internally.

It's very satisfying! Definitely going to have to set up a water trap and vacuum though, far too much dust.

I'd really like to get my whole transaxle into it (and the box is the right size) but I'm concerned I'll fail to seal it properly and kiss goodbye to my bearings/gears in days of operation due to alu oxide contamination!

use soda instead of ally oxide.

place on ebay i used was about 17quid for 25kg plus a tenner carriage for blast grade soda. On ally, same result as ally oxide, in fact probably better finish as more like original and less grainy.

ive used both in my DIY cabinet.

Both make a mess when you open the door before the dusts settled

I was considering the soda but all of the comparison charts suggest it's nowhere near as re-usable and nowhere near as harsh - on my corroded alu parts I needed to rip the surface off fairly well - took a good 4 or 5 passes to get them suitable for painting. Would be easier than the fun I have now trying to flush alu oxide out of a 16 runner intake mainfold!

Now, where's my wrinkle red and wrinkle black VHT paint?!

Best bung up holes ect where you can. Rubber corks work well. Managed to blast sierra uprights with bearings using string as am oil seal backup... Now 2,000 miles on an bearings are still good (or maybe I was lucky!)..
