I'm not at all sure they're actualy as usefull as they first appear - jobs that would be easier with the car raised up slightly but with all four wheels still on are fairly limited.
Nice i'll save them for another time.
Personnally i'd fix the width of them to the car width so they cant tip over sideways and put sides on them so you cant wonder off the edge...
All I can see is potential for an accident there, not enough triangulation (IMO) and too easy to tip the whole lot over laterally. Also, most folks (in the UK) wouldn't have the space to store them the 362 days a year they're not in use.
Triangulation is not going to help if all the load is in compression, more uprights or bigger ones would but they look plenty strong enough for what they are doing there. As above though they are a bit limited in their function as you can only get to the middle bit of the car and the wheels are still on.
There is massive triangulation on there already (be nice if it went to a point though). Someone on here made something similar about 9 years ago but
