So I am hoping to start my first ever build soon. So first thing I need to think about it what I am going to put the chassis on to keep it off the
floor until it becomes a rolling chassis. I want to do this cheap if i can so whats the best way?
I am thinking of building some A frames (2 of them) from some 3x3 reclaimed timber fence posts that are 1.2m long. Do you reckon that will be strong
enough, one at the front and one at the back?
Anyone got any good designs?
Anyone got any old frames / tables they dont need anymore even?
I used a pair of folding trestles to get my car to the rolling chassis stage, have a look at the Screwfix catalogue
Id sooner trust a stout wooden tressle over the plastic ones, probably cheaper too! If you dont have enough wood, B&Q do some CLS at about 89x47mm dirt cheap. Also available in rot treated.
What about these
For £20 you could beef them up with timber if you wanted ?
