Can anyone recommend a good cheap compression tester for an R1?, What are the ones on ebay like, they seem to come in at half the price of a halfords gunsons (£25).

The ones on ebay for about a £12 to £16 are fine just make sure it is suitable for access your spark plug hole and if a screw in type the correct thread fitting.

I had a Gunson one years ago --- it did the job but I wasn't exactly impressed with the quality.
