As you guys are all knowing on here, I thought I'd see if you can hemp with an issue I've got with my hoist.
I picked it up a couple of years ago as spares or repairs as it didn't have a hook, I sorted a replacement direct from Clarke for not a lot, but
the problem is when it gets to a certain height it will only pump up by around 1mm at a time. It's damn annoying when the engine is nearly
out and you only need a few more cm to get it over the chassis!
I know loads of spares are available from Clarke, but it's knowing what to ask for, and not wanting to spend more on it than it would cost to
replace it with a complete working unit.
Any advice? I've changed the fluid a few times and it makes little difference.
The parts lift is in the manual, Clarke have the manuals on their site for free download just google Clarke CFC1000 manual.
Mine does that when it needs bleeding, open the valve to lower it and pump it a few times.
Yeah, I've seen it (currently open in another tab) but don't want to start ordering bits and bobs to find it makes no difference. I'm guessing it's some seal or other, but wondered if anyone else experienced something similar and could say what to replace.
normally lack of oil or air in the oil
Like I mentioned I've changed the oil a few times now and it's made little difference. I have noticed each time the filter on the bottom of the valve covered in bits, which makes me wonder if something inside the ram has broken down
The insurance guy who comes to us offered me an engine hoist for spares or repairs. It was faulty so the hook was taken off.......
