TIG Woes Over I hope
r1_pete - 8/5/13 at 12:29 PM

After my disasterous purchase of a cheap chinese Cobel TIG welder, I've been talking with R Tech, after an inital call I made, asking about their range, they have stayed in touch with advice.

I've just bought one of their 160 amp AC/DC units, I did want a 200 amp, but, they advised against it as it would be too much for a domestic 13A supply, and would pop the fuse at much over 160 amp, a company who advise against spending an extra £300 can't be all bad.

and I got £225 for the knackered Cobel on eBay, hope the R Tech unit is as different again.

Will be interesting to see how you get on. Have been tempted to get that Tig from R-tech.

I have there 200A ACDC unit, great bit of kit.

There service and after sales is fantastic I had a problem with mine, they picked it up fixed it (faulty foot pedal which had cause some other issues) and got it back to me within 72 hours all under warranty.

We bought the same 200amp model, and also had a faulty foot pedal that caused other problems. When I spoke to them it sounded like a common problem, and they was quick to get it all sorted out.

My 200amp one is great as well, much better than the Chinese one it replaced.

No looking back
