todays drilling challenge

OK so here is the case for opinions.

If I had a 2mm aluminium panel which I needed to drill a hole threw but could not get to the other side, how would you drill a hole so you didn't get any burs on the other side? Hyperthetical question really, just wanted to see what could be done if that was the situation.

You could de-burr the hole from the front by poking something through and pulling it back.

When you say theres no room at the back....

Is there not enough room to get one of these in?

For example, if I wanted to put a hole through a panel, then need to put a grommet in. I don't need to just curious as the grommet would not fit properly due to burs.

Yes - use the de-burring tool show above.
Also useful for opening out holes in Aluminium sheet.

Drill out hole with either a hole saw or for more accuracy a Rotabroach cutter and finish off with a flap wheel like

ebay item181096125461 to remove burrs from both sides at once. Only a few turns are necessary.

Depending how much space there is behind the hole I would have thought a small round file used at a high angle would take the bur off easily, but will leave the removed metal behind the panel though.

But if you can't get to the other side what do you need a grommet for ?

You can get special de-buring bits for the deburing tools to do blind holes..

This is what I used on all the blind holes in the chassis as I did'nt want loose rivet syndrome, (for avex muliti grip rivets, much better than cheap and nasty garden variety everyone seems to use). Worked well for me, tool needed a quick touch on the Grinding wheel to fit into the 4.2mm rivet holes...
