I measure 4.46 mm maj diameter and around 50 tpi ..... so it not metric, nor any standard imperial size I can find so what can it be?
(It is the threaded part of the plunger on a set of Hayes mountain bike disc brakes)
M4.5x0.5 close enough?
+1
M4.5 x 0.5 metric fine thread
harumphh ..... didn't think such things as 4.5mm existed so didn't look.... pretty sure you are spot on
once again LCB saves the day .....
Plenty of taps and dies available on eBay if you need to make/repair the parts.

that is an odd size - even my trusty zeus tables don't list it -- whats it for ?
(they do list the course version M4.5x0.75 ~34tpi)
