We are making a Tudor house in miniature and the floor is made from undercoat plaster, what we call browning, mixed with 1 part pva and 3 parts water then carved to look like stone slabs. It can be applied in an 11mm coat and when dried overnight is easily hard enough to shape and finish to make or coat a buck.
