I'm refurbing a strut brace for my 205 project. It had a fair bit of surface corrosion and the paint was shot. A really good go with the angle grinder and knotted brush got it back to bare metal.

I then spent time making sure it was absolutely clean and dry before warming it and the painting with Halfords zinc primer and lots of thin coats keeping it warm over the electric heater between coats. Finish came up very well.

Then lightly rubbed down with 600 wet and dry, washed, warmed and now painted with lots of thin coats of Halfords satin black paint, keeping it warm between coats.

Have to say it has come up really well and it's amazing the finish you can achieve witha bit of care and prep.

I have had some good results with rattle cans on warm days, helps reduce splatter and mixes the paint with thinners.

I will be attempting wrinkle paint in the next couple of weeks. Never done that before.
