Due to having a hole in the top of my head these days, I am in the market for a full head, auto darkening welding hat. But I've not used one, nor
do I know anyone with one to give it a try before buying.
I've already got a flip up auto darkening type mask, but I need to cover the top of my head with something weld proof. I'm not looking to
spend loads, and if there's something that I can wear under my existing helmet like a hood of some sort, that would be better/cheaper I assume.
When it's cold I tend to wear a beanie hat under the mask, but they're no good at stopping splatter.
So basically, any suggestions?
My friend just uses an old thickish cap worn with the peak to the back, said it worked fine when I mentioned it.
I've always used these, Kromer are the best, reverse it when your welding and the peak stops weld spatter going down the neck

Thanks for the suggestions, and at £10 for the Kromer caps, cheaper than I had expected too!
