Removing sticky back plastic?
coozer - 6/4/15 at 06:04 PM

I have a piece of ally for my bonnet that has come with a layer of plastic stuck to it, a bit like a road sign... Cough...

Anyways how do I get the sticky back plastic off? What's the best stuff to loosen the glue?

Was thinking of using the blowtorch but it would probably take longer to clean the mess up afterwards!

Hair drier or hot air paint stripper. Get it warm and hope it peals off nice. Then solvent to dissolve the glue.

Yup, if you heat the reverse, the glue releases from the ally and stays on the plastic, if you heat the plastic invariably you'll end up with sticky bits left on the ally.

Cant you just wrap the rest of the car to match and register it as a Loughborough A6, Newark A46?
