On 4 valve engines I use my long compression tester extensions with a length of plastic rod down the center for finding TDC. There is an TDC gauge for
Alfa Romeo & Fiat that is similar but needs to be used with a dial test indicator.
In the USA they always seem one step ahead of Europe for good specialty tools, I recently saw on a US site a neat magnetic clip for holding auxiliary
drive belts on the alternator pulley while you slip it over the other pulleys but you just can't get stuff like that here.
