Locost welding curtain?
Slimy38 - 17/2/16 at 07:47 PM

I'm starting to get a bit irked by the grinding debris that seems to coat every surface of my garage, so I'm thinking of buying a welding curtain. But as ever, I'd like to do it 'on the cheap'.

Are there any locost curtains/blankets that would do the job? I was thinking of a cheap safety blanket, they do say 'single use' but I'm guessing that's for actually putting fire out?

I'd of guessed anything fire proof like a fire blanket etc would be fine. Single use would be for putting out a fire only.

My gripe with the grinder is I've trodden the fillings onto my door sills and the prints have gone rusty...

I made one for an old colleague using tinted rubbery draft strips hung from a metal frame approx. 6' tall and 6' wide. It worked a treat and was easily moved to where needed.

ETA...the reason tinted strips were used is that's what we had lying around, but the tinted look did help cut down on welding flash for bystanders.

With a homemade frame that would do it.
