Gelcoat painting
kenton - 18/1/17 at 06:29 PM

Evening all,
I need to cover some gelcoat with a hard wearing black coating. It wont be seen and I dont want to prime and paint with standard type paint. Would something like underseal or bed liner stick? It needs to dry to a hard durable finish.
Many thanks
Kenton.

I've used black primer on the inside of fibreglass panels. Looked good and never came off.

rough up the gel coat with coarse grade emery cloth, then brush on hammerite satin black from a tin.
