Folks,
Have acquired a Hofmann GT 2500 2 post lift. It's dismantled and hauled back to my place for re-assembly.
However I can't for the lift of me see how to raise the posts into position and make sure the chain is safely wrapped around the sprocket...
...I then need to figure out how to re-wire for single phase operation...
...any advice welcome....
(PS Will probably replace the lifting nuts whilst it's down, also)

If it,s anything like my old Bradbury, they raise it to half way before taking the chain off.
the screws detach from the bases to help in changing the nuts.
if you are in any doubt,i would consult a specialist
Bit late for that. However I think I can raise the carriage using a socket.
Rewire for single phase, I spent hours playing around to get the solinodes to work on single phase, hindsight should have just bought a three phase
reversing switch and saved a whole load of grief.
Rigging the chain, on my zippo lifted the uprights so I could see the sprocket to wrap the chain around, used a bungy to apply tension to keep it in
place then lowered, same other end then put in the link.
When it's in bits look at the nuts and compare the working the the safety, if they look very worn replace, yiu may be able to swap over.
Mine gets run every few weeks so I just squirt ep90 on the spindles before I use it.
You want to budget for a single phase motor 1.5 X larger than the three phase and stick in a type c breaker, I ended up with an 8 HP motor replacing
the original 4hp 3 phase and had to make a new smaller drive cog?
Thanks, Mark
