Any recommendations on ultrasonic cleaners? any ones to avoid. Looking at 500 x 300mm size.

I'll be honest, I've bought a few and never find them that good. Mildly dirty jewellery or bits and bobs are fine but really dirty car parts need another level. Look at the ultrasonic power rating, you'll see a lot of units use just a couple of watts and hide behind heater power. Good units specify the ultrasonic power separately. Also don't put green gunk in it and heat it, when you lift the lid and get a face full of caustic vapour you spend 24 hours in A&E with your lungs peeling. Don't ask me how I know.

Wait until the house is empty and run the parts through the dishwasher - works a treat for cleaning things.

Ive been putting all the dirty parts off many cars through a couple of very hot washes in the dishwasher for years !

empty the dirty dishwasher


clean the shiitty crud off first, and put on a long hottest wash, and finish
clean the filters out
and put on for a second hot wash again finish. clean the filters

put dirty crockery back in the dishwasher

she will know you have done something wrong, but wont know what
