I have been musing of late as I am away from home. Some time ago I built some high ( 350 mm ? ) car ramps but they were so cumbersome to move and store I eventually binned them. I am now thinking this was a mistake as I need to do some work on my MX5 outside and my combination of high lift jack and axle stands is more than a bit inconvenient. So I wondered whether I could build a couple triangular ( in side view ) towers to support my trailer ramps. The towers would be easy to move and store and the trailer ramps have a natural home. I am sure this is not an original idea but from anyone who has done it, or indeed those who have not, any advice would be appreciated.

Gosh Paul - I'm jealous - where did you get the first two from - I could use either at the moment?

The pivots are just round bar, and there's an M16 high tensile threaded bar between the top two.
Can't take any better pics at the moment as there's an MX5 race car on them.
Pic from a previous thread. Middle one has its top lifted up to show the thread.

Pop your axle stands under as well for a belt & braces approach.

Owner of the race car called in to inspect.
I will return the car to him in the morning so will take a pic of a stand with the top removed.

As promised, top off.
