Anybody with a list of drill size to tap thread eg M5, M6 ect.

Found nothing on the SEARCH.

If you haven't got a chart to hand find a nut the same thread as you need to tap and use the largest drill that will go through it, has got me out of trouble in the past

Another good indicator is the pitch of the thread on a small tap. (Think it works upto about M10)

If you subtract the pitch from the size then you get the tapping drill size:

eg M5x0.8 would be a 4.2mm drill. etc.

Bear in mind the tapping drill depends slightly on the material too. Harder materials use a bigger drill, softer use a smaller one.
