ball joint splitter.

Any of the central Scotland bunch got a ball joint splitter I could borrow ?

Not the destructive fork type, the one that presses the taper out.

I need to reset the rear alignment on the GTM after my work on the camber settings and to to this the rear track rod needs to come off.

Anyone ?

Cheers

**Update**

No need now. Got the TRE nut off, soaked it in lube whilst having a cup of tea and a tesco blueberry muffin. Came back out and whack it with a wood block in between as a pad. Out it came.

The other option to remeber is to apply some force on the ball joint to remove it and then hit the side of the casting around the taper with a hammer. It deforms the taper ever so slightly, breaking the friction round taper.

always works for me. Hold the heaviest against the side of the mount and hit the other side with the other hammer.

I think I will try the 'tea and muffin' method next time. It sounds most preasurable.
