I'm looking for a compressor!
bigandy - 16/7/05 at 11:38 AM

Morning all!

Apologies for bringing this up again, but I am looking to buy a smallish compressor. I;ve read through a lot of the older threads, and I have a good idea of what I need it for, but I have no idea where the bargains are to be had!

My main use is going to be painting, both with an airbrush, and a slightly larger spray gun for larger areas. Space is at a premium in my garage, so I don't need a massive great thing, especially as I can't ever see the need for running air tools off it.

As I'll be using it for airbrush work, it would be really useful to have a decent regulator/pressure gauge, and the availability of an oil/moisture/crap trap would be good too.

Sooo, does anyone know of any good bargains out there? I've had a look at he usual places, like screwfix and machine mart, but nothing has caught my eye yet.

Cheers
Andy

Try looking at Makro if you have one locally.

Try your local free ads for a used compressor S/H you may get a larger one for less than a new smaller one . I know space is at a premium but it's worth getting a larger one if you can!

How about something like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4394341193&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1

I hope the link works....

They seem pretty cheap, and are shiped from germany, which figures as about 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost...

I'll check out Makro in Chester this afternoon, as I am driving right past! I never thought of going there!

Cheers
Andy
