happy free spanners to me
shades - 23/8/05 at 09:52 PM

Ordered a new set of spanners from screw fix... have heaps but the odd few are missing so thought i'd buy a new set.

Anyay odered a 25 bit carbon set... two days later a chrome V set arrived... emailed to say they had sent the wrong ones... no problem we will send a replacement and somone will pick the others up... two days later another set arrived... again chrome V ones... put the other set in side door of garage ready to be collected too and emailed saying they were still wrong and I would just have a refund...
Email back said I had a refund and I could keep one set for my inconvenience

That was two weeks ago and still I have two sets of spanners plus a refund....

Must say apart from the error, which was the supplier who changed the type of spanner without telling, the service I recieved was excellent and I'll continue to buy from screwfix.

Having purchased an oven for £950 a few years ago the shear incompetence of the manufacturer/seller/delivery people resulted in us blagging another TWO of them for free!

... we sold them...

I can rest now knowing that you have got some free spanners after all the hassle and grief I have had with Screwfix!!
Over the past few years I have spent in excess of £8k with them but have been put off by thier recent delivery times and the fact that sometimes the stuff never turns up at all! It causes a problem when the stuff ordered is for a job and by the time it gets here (or delivered to site) the job is long finished

I received an order from Screwfix the other day. One of the 3 boxes was missing so I phoned them. I was asked what was in the box that was missing....I replied "a cement mixer".
How does a courier lose a cement mixer and not be able to trace it?
Got a replacement the next day.

Had the same thing happen with midland wheels, they actually sent the wrong set twice so I ended up basically with free alloys and a €200 profit after selling the other ones. Aside from sending the wrong wheels they were very gracious about the whole thing.
