if these go for the same price as a good mig welder which would be the better mig or tig ?
thanks
Andrew
Both of those look O.K.
Mig is easier for a novice to pick up,
Tig a little more difficult, but not that hard.
My advise would be to have a go with someones BEFORE you buy.
If you quickly get the hang of it you will want a better welder,
if you don't, then it's pointless buying one with features you will never use.
Hope this helps.

thanks for that, booked myself on a car restoration course in Accrington for 10 weeks in january, where you learn differnet aspects like gas,mig and
tig welding and lead filling.
and also got details for a welding course in preston for gas,mig and tig and plasma cutting starting in April.
looking to do a restoration next, My eldest god son is 17 next year and wants a mini, so i thought nice project to start to learn on. and then i want
to do a locost. just have to try and get the Tiger in storage or may have to sell.
Andrew,
If you want to pre-familerise yourself with mig your more than welcome to pop round and have a play with my clarke.
id also be interested in the details of that car restoration course
..........and if you want to learn about car body welding then a mini will definitely make a good project
