Torque seal or similar??
chrsgrain - 29/1/06 at 06:03 PM

Hi all,

is there any place to get torque seal, or some other 'your bolts haven't undone' paint other than Demon Tweeks - who want £6 + VAT and nearly £8 p+p!!!

Tried all the local motor factors...

Touch-up paint or paint pens.
I worked on aircraft at some point in my career (ahem!) - we used to mark up fasteners with witness marks, usually with red, but nothing special about the paint. Think about what you want it to do, and what conditions it will be in and pick a paint to suit.

Agree worked in aviation and now on trains used and use paint to denote whether something has moved.

On really critical bits used two paint lines in different colours

If you definitely want a sealer (to stop leaks) then Locktite have a few varieties to choose from. If you just want a marker to let you know if a nut is loosening, nail varnish works well - go have a fumble in the wife's handbag ......... if you dare
