Anyone know whats the most durable paint finish for a concrete garage floor, and where to buy.

Johnstone Trade paints on Meanwood
Road have heavy duty floor paint suitable for concrete floor and it was on special offer when I was in there recently. I think they do it in several colours

Thanks for the swift response guys, i'll pop down tommorow and see if they have any.

We used the stuff Screwfix sell. Although cheap, it seems to have given a suprisingly tough finish.

I've bought the Screwfix but never used it. What did any of you use to clean the floor first? If anything?

I'm just wondering if the dust from the concrete floor itself will prevent the paint from still well.

Use a weak pva mix to seal the floor and let it dry well before painting.

THin some of the paint down and give it a first coat with that.

Alot of motor factors do floor paint. The Dx work stuff isnt bad although it need a couple of coats.

The proper Industrial paint has an Etching Acid that you use first, if you have it done on the cheep without the acid first it just peels off wherever cars/vans/forklifts etc run.

I have you used Grey Oxide paint to great success. It's used for painting steel normally but I have used it very successfully. It's also very cheap to buy.

I've used the Leyland floor paint with good results, despite there being several areas of oil or other contaminent spillage. No sign of pealing but some chipping where I've dropped something heavy and hard.

Perfection you ain't gonna get unless you use one of the very expensive resin based products.

Go cheap and repaint as required. Either that or use the Gulval system and carpet it!

I used Wickes grey floor paint, they use it in all the stores, so at least you can see it before you buy and it gets some hammer! Use patio acid cleaner to etch the concrete (also from Wickes).
