Hi
Does anyone living in or near to St Albans have a nutsertkit that will fix M8 rivnuts that i could borrow for half hour this afternoon
My kit the Textron thin sheet kit has unfortunately got the 8mm conversion piece missing.
If any one can help my number is 07855 806482
Thanks

That's a big rivnut to be putting in a chassis tube.
Pat...
Its going thro a plate as additional security for the rollbar
You can fit the odd one or two with just an M8 bolt, nut & washer I think - might be a solution
Certainly is a biggy for a chassis tube though and I don't think it would be much good for a high stress application like a roll bar - better to
weld a nut in there.

This is not the prime fixing for the rollbar, but an added precaution. The main rollbar fixings are M10 nuts and bolts..
The idea of this is that the end of the tube is blanked off with a hole through it that is perfect for fixing the rivnut. This will then be bolted
through the mounting plate. This will give additional secondary support to the rollbar tube away from the main fixing plate that is welded to the
rollbar tube itself. Probably over cautious, well definately so, but hey its there to do

You can use a nut and washer, can't remember how though.
Do a search on here - been mentioned recently.

An M8 setscrew a nut and washer is all that is required to close l the the Rivnut up.
M8 Rivnut on roll bar --- it won't add any additional strength.
