Good GRP book?

Regular browsers will have noticed that I am about to embark on a major project - making buck, moulds and a GRP body myself.

At the moment I have some knowledge of the theory of GRP fabrication, and am learning from this and other websites, but have no practical experience. I see that there are several books available on composite fabrication. Any recommendations as to which one I should buy? I am only planning traditional GRP work, not the latest Carbon stuff.

they do a book called 'The Glassfibre Handbook' which I have found quite useful. There are also plenty of useful tips on the website.

I found Simon mcbeaths "competition car composites" book isnt bad.

Laminatings fairly straight forward when you get into it. just be methodical about it and take care to stipple out bubbles.

Also try and minimise any fillets of gell coat the build up in corners as they snap off easily when dry.

Also have a speak to some of the manufacturers about what relese agent to use. I usually use Freecote (from loctite) rather than wax but theres loads of different types.

have you tried fibre_glast they have some good info on their site blus a fibre glass forum which is very helpful
