Bought a new welding helmet and can't decide which way to put the glass in? Clear on outside, tinted inside or t'other way round?
hi, i put my clear on outside to protect the tinted.
Aye thats what I thought but me old one was other way round and got me thinking.
Cheers.
.........but i'm no expert!!
I suppose at the end of the day, as long as the tinted bit is in there then alls well
Absolutely.
Tinted inside/clear outside to protect the tinted from weld spatter.
The idea is that you can buy a big pack of plain lenses for very little money, but the tinted ones cost a significant amount.
BTW: Some people put a plain one front and back! The inside one protects from dust & scratching.
clear outside as this provides a splatter guard against the tint being damaged and then your eyes from the arc due to reduced filtering.
