Bought a new welding helmet and can't decide which way to put the glass in? Clear on outside, tinted inside or t'other way round?

hi, i put my clear on outside to protect the tinted.

I suppose at the end of the day, as long as the tinted bit is in there then alls well

Absolutely.

Tinted inside/clear outside to protect the tinted from weld spatter.

The idea is that you can buy a big pack of plain lenses for very little money, but the tinted ones cost a significant amount.

BTW: Some people put a plain one front and back! The inside one protects from dust & scratching.

clear outside as this provides a splatter guard against the tint being damaged and then your eyes from the arc due to reduced filtering.

Yip. My auto mask has a clear plastic cover on the outside too. Bin job when they get crapped up.
