Simple question, I hope, I fancy having a go ay welding stainless, can you use a normal MIG with stainless wire?

You can yes. You will also need argon gas rather than c02/argon mix.

Better with TIG tbh.

im doing a coure on it at the moment and find stainless a bit harder to do with a mig than mild steel, but im betting the hang of it now ,just takes a little time to get use to.
but i would say for sure tig is the way to go for stainless.

I taught myself to MIG weld and am now learing how to MIG stainless...

The one thing I have noticed is that you need a lot more power to get a good weld...

I am pretty confident with it that im about to weld my wishbone brakets onto the chassis..(its a stainless chassis)

I use pure argon gas...and plenty of it to get it right...

Something to consider though is the grade of stainless wire you are using to join differnt grades of stainless together..
