Help me spend my Paycheque>Welding Helmet
clockwork - 30/3/07 at 01:04 PM

I'm after an auto-darkening helmet to replace my old one, any suggestions?
I was looking at
Clarke< br /> or, saving some money
SIP

A quick search on the bay of E turned up a good couple of hundred.
Any hints please?

Have a Speedglas myself. Am vert happy with it.

If you are welding TIG the cheap ones won't go dark enough.

Have had welders-eyes (is that the right name in english) twice; will never ever save on welding helmets again...:-)

I got a Parweld XR914H for £58 delivered. Very very happy with it. Can get them at that price from user weldequip on http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/ or ebay LINK

Got one of those off Ebay. Works very nicely... Can't see the advantage of the more expensive ones!!

You can buy mine for £20 delivered. Very similar to this one and only a year old. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SIP-02865-REACTOLITE-WELDING-HELMET-MASK-METEOR-T2000_W0QQitemZ120083112921QQcategoryZ67052QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
