I am going to give the electrolysis method a go to clean up some parts.
What ratio of water to soda crystals are people using?
Is more better?
If you have a battery charger with an ammeter on, just keep adding crystals (dissolved in water) until the meter is about halfway up. thats what i did
anyway.
The more crystals you add, the higher the current draw and quicker the rust removal.

I have used the electrolysis method satisfactorily but recently I have used just cheap vinegar in a plastic bucket.
There have been previous threads on this and my experience is that it works well.
Mal.
We used sugar soap as an alternative with the eloctrolysis and it worked as well.

Thanks folks.
I have used citirc acid that I bought of ebay (they use it in bath bombs!) and this is excellent.
Just add a load to water and leave your bits in it for 24 hours and hey presto clean bits!
