Anyone have any experience of a Sealey SC10 hoist? Thinking about buying one but they seem cheap like the budgie! Will mainly be used for lifting a
'Busa lump which I think is around the 80KG mark, but I will also use it for lifting the engine/gearbox out of the Sierra and thats a 2.3
diesel.
Any thoughts?
hire one unless you are going to make a lot of use of it......
Sealey hydraulics are a joke if put to regular use , Hire one or get a decent block and tackle?
Need to make a bit of use, gotta lift out the Sierra lump and then Ill probably be moving the Busa around a bit, and after dropping it in will need to take it out again for fitting the dry sump.
I bought a Draper one locally thinking I'd use it then get rid. I still have it and it's been used loads. I've lifted stuff out of the van with it and used it to move things round the yard and the grandkids use it as a swing if they get half a chance as well.
I've borrowed a sealey one of a mate.
After realising I had just rivet on my floor pan whilst up on saw horses I was able to tie up one end on the crane then turn the chassis the right way
round on my own then later lower it on to axle stands.
It was a right job but better than the "a car is born, using a forklift".
Bought a Seally one from ebay £100 after i had hired a crane twice for £40 per weekend, have used it many times and it seems absolutally fine lifting
both Pinto and gearbox together many times.
Also found having three strops, 2 x long and 1 x short very handy
