Another tig question
Peteff - 5/6/07 at 05:00 PM

Sorry for the questions but it's my birthday and I've had one of these. tig 201H. I want a torch for it and am not sure which one. Any advice is welcome, thanks in advance. What's the difference between WP9, 17, 19 or 26 as they all look alike in the pictures.
P.S. It's a brilliant arc welder. It's also sold here in UK as a Murex and in America as a HTP

3 bits of advice Pete....

1. Buy a water cooled torch.

2. Make a cooling water unit.

3. See number one.

I think a water cooler is probably a future project, I'll get a round tuit one day I already have a fishtank pump and microbore piping if that's the basics for a plan.

Fish tank pump will work.

I have a car heater matrix, a fan, and a 2lt tank with a small pond fountain pump inside it.
I paid £5 for the matrix at a show, the fan cost £6.50, and the pump was £7.99
The tank I made from off cuts of s/steel.

Yeah DC Arc welding is nice and smooth aint it. My lil Chinese one beats my 210 amp SIP buzzbox especially on thinnish stainless.
