Been looking on ebay for jet drills. Found some micro drill bit sets (0.3 - 1.6mm) but they sound a bit cheap. I was probs hoping to get a set that
has between 1.5 to 2mm drills in them.
What did you get and how much?
Try Tracy Tools
They do sets running up in 0.1mm for sensible money and being specialists means they should be good quality.
Or they sell individually if that makes more sense. They even sell watchmakers drills down to 0.15mm
drilling out carb jets Darren?
yeah - ive been advised to drill the keihins out to 1.6mm to get car running on bike carbs and then Boggs will take over from there. 1.6mm drill is missing from my set!! Bugger or what. Local specialist only sells drill in 0.5 increments. Ill look at tracy tools to see if i can fill my box back up.
I got mine from a model shop last week. 8 quid for the set from .5mm to 2 or something.
Just ordered a new 1 - 6mm x 0.1mm drill bit set from Tracey for £16. It has the all important 1.6 and 1.7 that i will need.
Top tip - many thanks.
Very nice to deal with - highly recommended so far.
Engineer's Tool Room is really good.
www.engineerstoolroom.co.uk
He's a toolmaker so understands what he's selling Click here for the drills
Darren, I got some 1.6mm drills in B&Q for exactly the same purpose.
You don't need expensive ones as the jets are made of brass and dead easy to get through with a pillar drill and a bit 3 in 1.
By the way, hows your TPS conversion coming on??
Steve
i got mine from BBN in bradford, was recommended on here. Also seen full sets at the rufforth autojumble.
Cool
Joel, I never knew that BBN had a website, just found THIS
