I bought a cheap one from ebay and it honestly works fine!
It cost £14 delivered and took 8 days...

I was a bit sceptical of the really cheap ones....
So bought the parweld reactolight... It was about £55 and is adjustable from 9-13....
Its a really really nice helmet, and makes such a difference to the quality of my welds!
I wasn't brave enough to go for the ones on eBay so went to my local store and got an entry level Speedglas helmet.

well i was considering miller pro hooby from, a well known company... its response time is 1/10000 sec = .00001 sec
this parweld electrolite has an astonishing marketed time of .000004 = 1/250000, way better than miller and other brands...
is this brand good enough to market with accurate claims...

I bought a cheap one of eBay from America. It's brilliant. That said, I've never used an expensive one but compared to a fixed mask, the auto ones are superb. You can even alter the darkness of the screen. It makes welding much easier.
£15 from eBay, and mine came with a free pair of welding gloves! Fantastic deal and ideal for the amount of welding that I do.
I bought one from the web and thought it was reasonable but not great.
Then had Mr Welder come over to do some plating on my land rover chassis and as he was leaving he saw I had a auto-darkening helmet.
I explained to him that things looked a bit blurry otherwise I'd have given it a go myselft.
He took the helmet, looked trhough it at the sun, then removed the rear screen removed the green plastic protective covering, fitted the screen
back and all became very clear inded.
DOh!!! 
So my one is probably quite good then - would need to search for deails but was under £ 50.

I bought a cheap ebay one but as I am using TIG it flashes clear a lot when I am doing close low current work. When I am doing heavier stuff and not
in an awkward location it is OK. I could do with getting one that is more reliable at low levels of arc as this is what I seem to do mostly!

i bought a miller big window elite,
awsome bit of kit, pricey but i wont go back to anything else now i have been spoiled
