Electrolysis verus sand blasting

obviously I can see one advantage with electrolysis and that appears i can put a caliper in the solution without marking the bores, are there any more, or is it just an alternative to blasting.

Electrolysis doea not harm the metal. Sandblasting can, if the right media is not used, destroy metal.

And sand blasting costs money, and the parts are prone to rust quickly.

Sand blasting removes rust, but doesn't electrolysis "convert" it to good metal?

The rust ends up as sludge

Sandblasting is not just to remove rust. it provides a proper preperation (or key) for future paint application
