Hi all, would anyone know if the clarke type 12 ton hydraulic benders are capable of bending 38 x 4mm thick CDS.
Cheers
Also, on another topic would a 50 * 50mm tube welded together to make 100*50 be stronger than a standard length of 100*50mm?
Thanks
Jools

Hello,
Yes they can bend such tube physically, but the formers you get are for pipes and single sided and therefore don't fit the 38mm tube properly, so
you may get partial tube collapse and or derformation although you are using 4 mm wall thickness so that should be enough to prevent folding and
kinking

i thought the clarke tool was a PIPE bender not a TUBE bender. You need different dies for PIPE and TUBE.
(i know i'm shouting - its not intentional, but i wanted the two terms to stand out.)
