If you are like me, i hate paying the annual rental on the gas bottle for my MIG welder & TIG welder.

I came accross this company last night and got a quote for £114.03p for a bottle of argon.

which includes the £40 deposit on the bottle, & delivery.

I'm going to give them a go

That's not a bad deal, but when you compare it with the new prices from Air products, you get near four times the gas volume, for the same price as Adams.

AP X47s bottle Pure Argon, ~20l & 200bar £21.82, pickup£14.17, 1 yr rental £78. All in £113.99.

Take the bottle back when you're done and avoid the rental costs.

Now whilst it looks too good to be true, I have been trying to work out why its so cheap.

Adams Gas is an Air Liquide Agent (from the AL site).

Then when you read the Ad on Ebay the truth becomes apparent...

"Our cylinders are equivalent to aprox. 10 disposable cylinders"

Which I think isnt as much gas.

I have a contract with Air Liquide and I think my Bottle is 200Bar (when ful) and is 10 Litres.

I strongly suspect that as they are couriering them, the pressure has to be less.
But I am not completely sure.
This would explain why their bottle is 137Bar, and mine is 200 Bar (when full).

The sting in the tail is the postage.
The Deposit is £40 which is OK.
The Gas is £44 which is reasonable.

Then you need to add £29.37 postage for each bottle delivered.

If you use more than 2 bottles a year, you might as well have a contract, and pick up locally. You will also get more gas. (200 bar as opposed to 137Bar in the same sized bottle)

Anyone throw any more light on this?
