Keyless chucks

I have a couple of cordless drills but the keyless chucks are getting unusable, cannot get the chuck tight enough to stop the drill spinning at times. Any suggestions? If they did cordless with keyed chucks I'd be first in the queue

Buy a new chuck either key'ed or keyless. Need to know the thread on your drill.

Open the chuck as wide as it will go and look in it. There's usually a left hand thread Philips screw holding them on. They come out easy enough.

Jacobs keyless chucks are pretty good. They are available on their own from alot of tool places like Cromwells.

I have a ratcheting jacobs keyless chuck in my Makita and its very good, it tries to break my wrist before the bits slip! Snap on drills come with the same chucks.

I used to work for DeWalt. You would not believe the thought and testing that goes into selecting the right chuck. You get what you pay for im afraid. The ratcheting keyless chucks are very good. Although ive been out of that business for a while now i do remember that not much could beat the good Jacobs chucks.

I would never use a keyed chuck over a good keyless one.

My job at DeWalt was Production Engineer. One task was setting the DeWalt line up to make Wurth drills a few years ago. Probs only a smallish batch. Also made a batch for BT. Dont be surprised to find out that Snap-On are made by a premium pro brand. DeWalt have certainly made some of them before in America.

I have a Bosch with a keyless chuck and its got a terrible wobble on it. I've checked and there is no runout on the shaft itself, its all in the chuck. Anyone know how to replace these with a normal chuck? I've looked down into the chuck through the jaws and there is no bolt - looks like it has been pressed on.
