I have a vob file that i would like to convert into a mpg or avi file cant seem to find an easy solution.. suggestions please !
play it on a good tele and use my video camera to shoot the five minutes footage
mmm not quite what i had in mind
thanks paddy
They are mpg files essentially. You can rename them as .mpg and they play. If you truly want to convert then handbrake will do vob files IIRC.
i read that on line but the file in question has no .vob its called " VTS_01_1 " i have tried adding .mpg and dropping into windows movie
maker, but it doesnt see it..

Open folder options, view, de-select hide extensions for known file types.
Should then show you the extension which you can change.
thanks can see the extensions now, cant get it into movie maker but can now at least get it up to youtube thanks !!
I have had the same problem with movie maker not recognising .vob renamed to .mpg or.avi so i found another movie editing program but cant remember what it was. I can u2u you the name when i get home if you like.
that would be great thanks!
