Obama: Anyone Else Feel a Bit Cheated???
scootz - 26/6/10 at 08:59 PM

Like most I was quite hopeful when Obama was appointed, but I've got to say that he is rapidly going down in my estimations!

I see his latest PR gimmick was taking Medvedev to his local burger bar! I'm sorry, but are you not meant to be the President of the USA!?

blakep82 - 26/6/10 at 09:05 PM

yeah, i'm not overly impressed by his handling of the oil thingy. BP haven't managed to stop it leaking properly, and have tried a lot of things and spent a lot of money.
all he's done is moan they haven't sorted it yet. well, until he comes up with a solution... lol

don't see the problem with burgers though?

BigFaceDave - 26/6/10 at 09:09 PM

I do feel that he would'nt have moaned so much if BP where a american company, I think that has alot to do with it, especially as america are the biggest users of oil in the world, Dont think he has mentioned that though has he?

v8kid - 26/6/10 at 09:12 PM

Guess how I feel about the chappie?

What a waste of opportunity his decisions have turned out to be.

Is it along the same lines as you feel about the Germans? Oh and the French? Oh, and whoever else you've had a go at?

v8kid - 26/6/10 at 09:37 PM

Eh?

Who started this?

I quite like people and don't have any hangups but should we just lie down and take a bashing just 'cos USA has got mid term elections coming up?

Where do French or German people come into this? Are you suggesting summat else cos its over my head I'm afraid.

We are entitled to disagree you know!!

My apologies, I've just confused you with another forum member who seemed slag off Germans and a few other people for what I'd consider slightly unreasonable (bordering on racist!) comments...

I won't name the other person, but I took the opportunity to reply as I did above, because I've been tempted before and not done it!

As above, I apologise - and I agree to your last comment re disagree etc, but as I said, I was confusing you with someone else, so I wasn't simply trying to disagree!!!

Steve.

franky - 26/6/10 at 09:46 PM

He's just proved that another puppet is in charge of the white house. 30% of American pension funds have shares in BP yet it seems he's trying to devalue them to a point where there can be a forced buyout, most likely by an American firm.

The Deep water horizon was an American Rig, owned by an American company, staffed by Americans....

The biggest users of oil in the world now have it washing up on their shores, am I not the only one who sees the irony!??

I never understood the hype about him to be honest.

v8kid - 26/6/10 at 09:49 PM

Steve,

No probs feel the same myself at times but find it difficult to vocalize it effectively.

Cheers

Steve Hignett - 26/6/10 at 09:51 PM

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't

Back on topic, I think the man is a c@ck, it took him three months to decide wether or not to send extra American troops to Afghanistan, and all the while our lads were being killed. Thanks Barrack.

RK - 27/6/10 at 03:04 AM

Some countries have been there longer. The US is not the world's answer to everything. There are some serious nutters in the US, and this guy is by far, more reasonable that many of them. It is not a matter of being perfect, it's being better than the other options. Live next to them for a while and see.

theconrodkid - 27/6/10 at 07:21 AM

on the radio the other day some politico types were saying we didnt really have the "special relationship" with the USA any more, wow that was a surprise, just used and abused and that we should get closer to France.
seeings as we have been at war with the french since time began and their attitude to us i cant see why we should.
we used to rule half the globe, now we are reduced to billy no mates looking for someone someone to like us.
personally i like being on an island

morcus - 27/6/10 at 07:40 AM

He also recently sacked the man incharge of Coalition forces in either Iraq or Afganistan (I don't remember which) for saying things about his administration in a Rolling Stone magazine article.
I don't really get why everyone was so inlove with him anyway, He's worse than George Bush when it comes to BS, and they gave him a Nobel Prize for (as far as I can tell) Absolutly nothing.

Maybe its just because I put money on both his opponents but I just don't like the man and haven't from the beginning.

StevenB - 27/6/10 at 08:28 AM

American comedians / press etc (and the world) slagged off George W
for being a war mongering idiot who had a history of saying ridiculous things in interviews.

Obama gets into power with people hailing him a
great orator of modern times and a bit more anti
war.

Straight in and he sends more troops to Iraq / Afg
and says his 10 pin bowling is like the special olympics.
Classic.

Bill Hicks once said that it didnt matter who was President.
After being sworn in you are lead into a dark room where the 12 capitalists sitting smoking cigars
show you footage of the JFK assasination from
an angle you have never seen before.
Then tell you your agenda.

Peteff - 27/6/10 at 09:52 AM

And what did Bill Hicks really die of ?????

scootz - 27/6/10 at 09:55 AM

... saying things he shouldn't have about 12 capitalists!

Stott - 27/6/10 at 10:09 AM

I was listening to him on Friday, and the whole smoking jokes bit is so ironic.

"I've got this vision of me coming back in 5 years time like this (talking through a voice box thingy)"

Funny guy though!

scootz - 27/6/10 at 10:14 AM

I love his 'evolution' skit... always makes me giggle!

As long as the Western world keeps on using drugs, the money from which is funding the Taliban, they unfortunately will keep on dying and in a few years time the coalition forces will withdraw due to public pressure will come home defeated.

RK - 28/6/10 at 10:15 PM

Well said. I've always found that drug users have a hard time making that sort of connection, when it is plain as day for everyone to see. They refuse to believe their little habit/recreation, has anything to do with anybody but them and their "dealer". This is such a naive and false view.
