edging
Hi guys&girls,
I have seen a few posts recently about edging, and find it a really messy game.
What techniqie do you use to stop getting glue everywhere?
I have seen an edging strip on this forum that looks a bit like dragon scales on on top of the other, which seems pretty flexible - is it glued in
place or is it crimped on?

Try www.woolies-trim.co.uk it's called PVC edge trim and just pushes on.

I used two types of edge trim for my build / SVA.
The first was the metal cored herringbone type trim. This pushes into place and the metal spring digs into the grp stopping it coming back off. I
used this where I wanted the trim to be permanent.
The second type was the rubber u section. With this stuff, I used a fine nozzle on the end of a tube of black silicone, and working with a mate piped
the silicone into the u section, as he slid it onto the bonnet. As we pushed it into place, any excess silicone was wiped off with kitchen roll.
That trim has stayed in place pretty well, but has the advantage that if you do want to take it off, you can, then just roll the silcone off the GRP /
use silicone eater.

oh great! Didn't know it gripped on itself, great!
Getting two people working on the same thing in my garage is next to impossible, as its too skinny, or me and my mate are too fat

Try Seals + Direct for the self grip U channel (part number ET57) or they have about 20 different sizes of plain rubber U channel

Because I live in a VERY rough part of liverpool, if all the scum saw what I had in the garage I'd get broken into...for the third time.
Garage door stays closed, only opened to load/unload car on a trailer, which I've done twice.
Seriousy considering leaving the car at a friends when its done so it isn't robbed.
