locking using nuts
Morning all
Think I've found my speedo sender problem but confused myself at the same time. The sensor is the type that looks like a piece of threaded
stud.
It passes through the bracket and has a nut on either side. I'd of thought that this would stop the sensor being able to rotate. It
doesn't, the nuts are tight against either side of the bracket but the sensor is free to turn.
So do I simply need a second nut on 1 side to stop this or another solution.

Loctite is probably the best option with or without the additional nuts.

thanks, I take it you mean super glue or do you mean a different loctite product? If superglue would this make it difficult to undo if required in the
future?

Halfrauds will sell you two different grades of Loctite in tiny tubes
Red stuff "Loctite 271 Stud 'N' Bearing Fit" is designed for things that you are unlikely to want to remove again
Blue grade "Loctite 243 Lock 'N' Seal" is for things you anticipate changing or dismantling.
They also sell "Loctite 248 Thread Locker" in a glue stick type applicator this is somewhere between the two other grades.
In practice the blue stuff is the most handy but it dosen't make that much difference for automtive jobs.

Yes, you'ld either need three nuts or some studlock.
