Those strippers/crimpers are useable but easy to make duff connections.
I have a set of auto strippers, they are great - you just throw the wire in, squeeze and it strips the outer off but not the copper.
Also you want a set of rachet crimpers, they double crimp and do a good job each time.
See here for the items I am talking about - good supplier too BTW if they are struggling to find them on the high street.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Punch sets can be got from a number of places depending on how fancy/name concious you are.

or

Should give you a good idea of the range.
The pliers I mentioned were the ones you need to install Cleco's I got mine from a group buy organised by Zilspeed.
Can get them from CBS (though with a lot fewer than Zil got us for similar money).

The mental gymnastics a landlord will employ to justify immoral actions is clinically fascinating. Just because something is legal doesn't make
it moral.

KEEP ALL RECIEPTS for the tools.
Halfords refused to replace my Pro range ratchet. It has a lifetime guarantee.... However you need to produce the reciept / proof of purchase.
Keep them Safe, in an envelope, and out of the light, as they will fade and become useless.
Be Warned!
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Best Regards

it's always wise to photocopy any receipts you know you might need again and keep the copy with the original. thermal print paper's
horrible stuff.
as for the ratchet, the ratchet mechanism's never been covered under the 'lifetime warranty' as for anything else, i think halfords
is rapidly turning into an establishment of jobsworth arses. i've lost my tradecard and have been using my number for well over a year now but
the manager at dewsbury tells me he's not allowed to do that and won't do it in future. he flatly denies the fact that wakefield and
huddersfield have allowed me to use the number in the past.

Started early, dad had a lot of stuff already and I rarely go into maccess or a week on Ebay without buying some tool or other!
