Painting Engine....

Was hoping to paint the block in the next few days, but the garage is pretty damn cold now and I've spent far too long on preparation to just slap on some paint and hope it sticks!

Anyone got any tips? Three-bar fire?? Hot air blower???

Cheers guys...

PS - sorry... should have said that the engine is not running and is still in the car, so painting it in the livingroom and starting it up are not option!

I had one of these when I painted mine:

http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/xr105-dieselparaffin-fired-space-heater

it was almost freezing when I painted it, so it got a 1/2 hour blast from the heater before I started and then kept it warm(ish) till it dried

and this is what I ended up with

I think you should pull the thing out to paint it. It'll make the job better/easier in the long run and help you to get heat onto it.

When I resprayed my engine stand ( I know I know), I took the chill off with a fan heater and painted.

I then parked it in a cardboard box and just left the fan heater on for 1/2 hour.

It dried fine - I left it in the house overnight as it was warmer.

Finish was excellent. (even though I do say so myself)
